Beautiful Groß Plasten Castle is only a 10 minutes drive away from the climatic spa town Waren which lies on the north bank of Lake Mueritz, Germany's second biggest lake. Among other sights, Waren has an attractive marina.
Mueritz National Park, renowned for its countless lakes and extensive forests, is another nearby destination well worth a visit. Whether you prefer to watch the bounteousness of animals or birds - whether it is cycling, sailing, kayaking, rowing, hiking, golf or any other activity you like best - our castle is the perfect starting point for all your excursions.
Garden- and nature lovers are well catered for in our region.
Not only will we be able to present our own new castle garden from this summer on, but there is another estate in close vicinity: Marihn Castle & Garden - (distance approx. 13 km). - The redecorated manor constitutes the center of this historic estate which is framed by an extensive park, "Marihn Garden" with its thousands of David Austin English roses. Step by step, Marihn Garden was modelled to be a garden of indulgence and has been open to the public since April 2009 as a project corresponding to the BUGA 2009 (i.e. national garden exhibition).
Our own lush copse and our lake Klein Plasten also invite guests to rest. We have bicycles available for guests, so maybe we can tempt you to go on a bike tour with a picnic basket full of delicacies from our castle kitchen? We would be pleased to support your tour planning with insider tips.
